Musica Perennis Sancti Benedicti
A festival of sacred choral music held across the historic churches of Senec and the Danube region — featuring ensembles from Italy, Poland, Hungary, Germany and Slovakia.
Learn moreFor over three decades, Collegium Wartberg has brought Renaissance and contemporary sacred repertoire to churches, concert halls and festivals across Europe — from its hometown of Senec to Rome, Krakow and beyond.
Collegium Wartberg takes its name from the medieval name of Senec — Wartberg — a town whose churches once served as the cradle of sacred music in this corner of the Danube basin. The choir carries that inheritance forward.
Today we are a chamber ensemble of eighteen singers performing repertoire spanning from Gregorian chant and Franco-Flemish polyphony (Palestrina, Lassus), through the Baroque of Schütz and Bach, to twentieth-century sacred works and contemporary Slovak composers.
We are the artistic curator of the international festivals Musica Perennis Sancti Benedicti and Musica Perennis Iuventutis — platforms that welcome ensembles from a dozen countries to our region.
Every year we bring international ensembles to Senec and the surrounding towns, building bridges between audiences, generations and traditions.
